Simplistic Muse over French Pastries @ Sophie Bakery

Have passed by this newly opened bakery @ One Shenton Way during
lunch time and was attracted by its French decor. Hence have decided to
pop by to buy some of their french pastries for takeaway.
I
was amused that no price tag and label was displayed in the shop and
the variety of breads available are pretty limited (perhaps owing to the
fact that it is during the Chinese New Year festive season)…
Hence I simply ordered 2 items to try.

The cookie seemed to be overly baked – I can see that some parts are in deep brown. Also, the texture is rather hard and dry.
I personally prefer Subway’s cookies so I think this cookie fall short of my expectations somehow 🙁

The filling at the bottom has a soggy texture which I didn’t really like. I love normal egg tarts / custard filling.. But the filling for this tart tastes different somehow. Not to my liking either.

Overall
I will not consider visiting this bakery again especially with Artisan Boulangerie Co. in the vicinity.
