National Day 2016 Lookbook with Gift Flowers Singapore

National Day 2016: Al-Eve-Mel x Gift Flowers Singapore Collab

With reference to my previous blog post on How To Dress for National Day (Singaporean Version), I am very excited to share with you my National Day 2016 Lookbook! I have collaborated with 2 other beautiful fashion bloggers – Melissa from Melissa Jane Ferosha & Everest from Everest Says to put together 3 unique styling ideas for this National Day. 

Bright & Cheery Casual Look

Bright & Cheery Casual Look

I seldom wear red as my go-to colours are white and pastel shades.

I got this super comfy Striped Cotton T-Shirt during the recent Mango Sales at only SGD9.90 which is considered a steal. The weather in Singapore gets really humid at times and I foresee that this cotton Tee will be my regular go-to clothing for a casual weekend wear. 

In order not to look too sloppy in the comfy striped cotton Tee, I paired it with a high-waisted The Deluxe Short from Cotton On in Camel. I love the 2 columns of laced up details of the denim shorts as it adds a cowgirl feel to it somehow.

Bow Detailed Clutch (SGD59.90) – Charles & Keith // 35mm Whitehaven Marble Mesh (AUD219) c/o Christian Paul Watches // Skinny Roman Empress Bangle – Rose Gold (AUD45) c/o ThePeachBox

In order to make my entire outfit look cohesive, I chose to match it with a Bow Detailed Clutch from Charles & Keith in a similar shade of red as my Tee.

Lovely deets ain’t they?

National Day 2016 Well-Wishes

Singapore was perceived as a tiny red dot on the world map and used to be a swampy island.

Today, Singapore is a bustling metropolis and a strategic business hub – her success ain’t established overnight as well.

It is collaborative efforts of our forefathers and astute leadership under our late Mr. Lee Kwan Yew which resulted in our success. I am proud to be a Singaporean – to own a HDB Flat of my own and be able take #OOTDs around Singapore without having the fear of being bombed by terrorists or be washed away by tsunami.

I realised that we are much much more fortunate here in Singapore despite occasionally complaining about the humid weather here.  Although our population consists of people of different race, language and religion – we simply learn to embrace our differences and live together in harmony and work collaboratively for a brighter future. This is not easy, but we did it because we are SINGAPOREANS.

With that, I wish Singapore a very Happy 51st Birthday! 

Al-Eve-Mel Collaboration

In Frame (Left to Right): Everest, Myself & Melissa

Our National Day 2016 Lookbook was very much inspired by the American Fashion Bloggers’ Lookbook posts for Independence Day (4th July). We were motivated by their patriotism and started this initiative to recreate a Singaporean Version for our upcoming National Day on 9th August since not many fashion bloggers in Singapore are actively doing this.

Please do check out the gorgeous ladies’ blogs  (Melissa Jane Ferosha & Everest Says) for the other 2 National Day Looks!

Oh yes, and special thanks to our dedicated photographer Ashton (@Ashtonmacfarcry) who did such a great job in taking our photos!
