Officially a Pickateer!
Great news! I’m officially a Pickateer! In case you guys are still unaware of what is this all about, the term ‘Pickateer‘ stems from this mobile app called ‘Pickat‘.
The Pickat app is simply a platform for you to share food photos and reviews and also to enjoy dining coupons from participating merchants 🙂 Hence a Pickateer is a Pickat user who is specially tasked to try out food worthy of shouting out about. In order to do so, Pickat will be sending us food vouchers on a monthly basis so that we can go around exploring new foodie places and post our reviews on them accordingly.
My Pickat Voucher! |
This time round, Pickat has sent me to Le Halo to try their food 🙂
Nostalgic Old School Décor
We were amazed by the pretty old school décor of Le Halo.
The café felt like kindergarten with the bright contrasting colours 🙂
Golden Chairs all in a row 🙂 |
Even the self-help station looked so cute!
Menu
Menu wise was pretty decent and they serve a palatable selection of breakfast…
They even allowed their patrons to make their own toast! How lovely!!
Carrot and Ginger Soup (S$5)
Carrot gives the soup the lovely sweetness and a few slices of gingers bring uniquely quality to the soup
Carrot and Ginger Soup (S$5) |
We were surprised that the portion was pretty big for the soup. Texture wise was very creamy and it bore the sweetness of carrot just that the gingery taste was almost inexistent.
Rose Café Latte (S$5.80)
Rose Café Latte |
Rose Café Latte’s presentation was pretty vintage with our nostalgic iced gems cookies placed on the saucer.
However taste wise was pretty lacklustre and mediocre.
Cheers to good life 🙂 |
Piggy Stew (Regular) (S$13)
This is Le Halo’s best selling item so far. Slow cooked to full flavour with generous chunks of pork, it is served with fingers of crispy buttered toast, making them the perfect companion for this dish
Piggy Stew comes in 2 serving portions – Small and Regular.
The Small portion is served with 4 buttered toasts whereas the Regular is served with 6 buttered toasts.

The stew tasted really rich and comforting!
Eggy Benny (S$14.50)
All-day breakfast a die die must have all favourite and Le Halo’s version of the eggs benedict are done in 2 ways. Poached egg, ham, crispy bacon on toast and another bread made into a shape of muffin cup filled with ham and egg served with pea puree and hollandaise sauce
Eggy Benny (S$14.50) |
The serving portion was huge but I think the toast is very filling.
Taste wise was so-so and lacked the “WOW” factor. Nonetheless, it was still pretty palatable.
Rainbow Cake (S$8)
To our surprise, the rainbow cake tasted very moist and fluffy.
It is definitely the must try item from Le Halo!! Besides Rainbow Cakes, Le Halo also serves Rainbow Kueh Lapis but we still think that the Rainbow Cakes are the best 🙂
Also, if you wish to celebrate birthdays of your loved ones, you may also order the whole rainbow cake and customise the taste (be it more or less sweet) accordingly.
Conclusion
I have come to the end of my café hopping experience – hope you guys would like it since it has been ages since I last shared about my café hopping expeditions since after my wedding.
Hope I’ll get more time to blog and not get bogged down by the household chores!
