Midnight Blue Origami Doll
Midnight blue is one of the most mysterious colour which flatters my fair skin tone. I will be sharing with you the inspiration behind my Midnight Blue Origami Doll look that I wore to the ELLE.Sg 1st Anniversary Party earlier.
I wanted to wear something out of the norm and hence decided to try a darker shade on me. That was how this midnight blue themed outfit came about.
The Cora Pleat Blouse is made of polyester blend and it resembles the curtains of a theatre. I am surprised that it is a lot more lightweight than it looks.
As a fan of ruffles, pleats and baggy apparel, this top fits me perfectly. It looks photogenic and yet gives me room to overeat at th event without much concern.
Moreover, I think I personally feel that those pleats remind me of origami. ☺

As midnight blue can be a tad too harsh, I paired it with a pair of white and navy blue printed culottes which the patterns resembles that of Chinaware, accentuating the oriental feel to the look.
As the Cora Pleat Blouse has dramatic pleated bubble sleeves which might make me feel warm, I decided to tie my hair up. I fashioned my hair into 2 effortless side buns for a fun look.
On a side-note, I got teased by my colleagues that I looked like a Star Wars character in this hairdo.
Someone also commented that I look like a Japanese doll too.
For accessories, I chose to match this outfit with a pop of red from my bag. I included a classy touch of marble in my necklace, watch and bracelet as well.
