Bluebay Wedding: Pre-Wedding Photoshoot in Taiwan

 Pre-Wedding Photoshoot @ Taipei

T

ime flies so quickly and its been almost 2 years since we went to Taiwan for our pre-wedding photoshoot with Bluebay Wedding! 👰🏼 So much had happened during these 2 years and I could even remember how my mom was so against us going overseas for the pre-wedding photoshoot as she was worried that we might have do something “wrong” when we were overseas.

It has always been my dream to fly overseas for my pre-wedding photoshoots as I was too sick and tired of seeing my couples posing with the Merlion or at the Botanical Gardens / Chinese Garden – its slightly better now that we have Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by The Bay.. But but but I wanted more.. I wanted a different view and I disliked heavy makeup on my face which made me look like an old hag. Hence I insisted on going overseas for our pre-wedding photoshoot ✈️

Things got pretty bad and I wasn’t on talking terms with my mom as I felt that she was autocratic, manipulative and dirty-minded🙅🏼. Thanks to the hub’s patience and convincing powers – he managed to persuade my parents to give us their blessings for us to go overseas for our pre-wedding photoshoot! *YAY*

However, the condition is for a girlfriend to tag along for our trip, if not my parents might tag along instead – spoiling all the fun 🙇🏻

Hence it was our fortune to have Tracy tag along our trip, saving all our headache!✨

Going to Taiwan together with the hubs and my bestie – Tracy ✨

Bluebay Wedding (蔚藍海岸婚禮)

After going around to compare the photoshoot packages, we settled on using Bluebay Wedding for the few simple reasons below:

Good Publicity

We’ve read many positive reviews online regarding Bluebay Wedding on various blogs and wedding forums📰✨

Physical Presence in Singapore

The hubs is very cautious in our financial commitments and hence he feels that it is safer to choose a bridal boutique that has a local presence as we heard stories of couples losing their monies after the bridal boutiques go bust in Taiwan💸

Not Pushy in Service

Unlike other bridal boutiques, the sales manager from Bluebay Wedding is nowhere pushy in her service. In fact she answered all our queries with a lot of patience and she threw in many perks even without us asking for them👍🏻

Value for Money

We compared other providers prior to chancing upon Bluebay Wedding. We both think that the package offered by Bluebay Wedding fits our criteria and budget, hence we signed up for their package at their Bugis+ roadshow🙌🏻

19 Feb 2014: Gown Selection & Gown-Fitting

The second day upon touching down in Taipei, we headed over to Bluebay Wedding to select our gowns👗👘👑

Talking to my gown-fitting consultant – she’s so bubbly and cute 🙂

Our bridal package allows me to choose a total of 5 gowns from their vast selection of gowns available from their HQ in Taipei. For the hubs, he gets to choose 2 sets of outfits to match me 😻

I’m so spoilt for choice when it comes to which 5 gowns to wear!

It is advisable that you wear your nubra & heels for the gown-fitting so that you will know how the gowns fit you and how much your gowns need to be altered for the day of photoshoot💞

After trying on a few gowns recommended by the consultant, I chose my 5 gowns very quickly😈

Me, at my fattest stage.

Oh yes, I gave up dieting for my pre-wedding photoshoot and I was suffering from bloating issues back then – hence I did not look flattering in photos at all😵

And to satisfy my fetish, I requested for one of my gowns to be cheongsum but to my disappointment, Bluebay Wedding did not have many traditional looking cheongsum for me to choose from – I had to settle with the most traditional looking cheongsum below instead. If not I might have to wear a modified cheongsum with miniskirt and look like Chunli from Streetfighter😈

Going traditional with a somewhat revealing RED Cheongsum

As for the hubs, he decided to go monochrome to match all of my outfits.

Don’t you think he looked suave in the tuxedo?

The hubs in his black tux with a ‘napkin’ over him.

I was making fun of him as he had a ‘napkin’ tied around his neck. Perhaps he needed the napkin to wipe his drool when he saw me in my gowns :p

20 Feb 2014: Photoshoot

We woke up bright and early in the morning in anticipation of the day of photoshoot 🔆 We chose to take our photos during the cold climate in hope of taking beautiful photos with the sakura flowers.

Getting my hair and makeup done

It is recommended by the friendly staff at Bluebay Wedding that I wear a blouse with buttons in front so that I can change into my gowns easily✨

I have BIG hair

There at the bridal boutique, we had our hair and makeup done in preparation for our first set of photos in my red cheongsum! The makeup artist had my hair crimped to give my flathead a boost of volume and I requested for her to give me an oriental look to flatter my cheongsum with the classic pin-up hairstyle but apparently my stubborn thick hair refused to budge 🙁

Makeup halfway done – LOVE how natural I looked!!

Anyway I loved the natural makeup on myself and I adored the thick fluttery faux eyelashes they applied on my eyes to make them look so much bigger!

After the makeup artist was done with my face, she then proceeded to help me put on my cheongsum and adjusted my nubra as I sucked at wearing nubras.

Changed into my RED Cheongsum ~

The hubs requested for the makeup artist to apply more makeup to his face to cover his acne scars but the makeup artist responded politely that he does not need too much powder to cake his face because all his imperfections can be easily resolved with Photoshop!😹😹 *LOL*

Bet his heart broke at that moment 💔*Oops*

Nourishing the hubs with some serum before applying powder onto his face…

Initially, our plan was to go up to Yangmingshan to take photos with the Sakura Flowers… But the weather was really too cold and we aborted the idea and settled for Tamsui Manor instead to maximise our time as per the photographer’s recommendation😨

We stopped by an old architecture along our way to Tamsui Manor to take some vintage looking photos in my cheongsum. According to the crew, that place used to be where an affluent family resided and their house was preserved as a tourist attraction and photography hotspot thereafter🏤

First Outfit: Cheongsum

Am so loving this shot because of the light leaks in this photo ~ and my hair looked most flattering from this angle 😀

 Arrival at Tamsui Manor (淡水庄园)

Tamsui Manor is like a huge photography theme park situated near the sea because it has different backdrops for photo-taking – both indoors and outdoors.

Also, it has a changing room for you to change and touch-up your makeup. So cool right?

At the changing room in my second outfit.

The hubs snapped this photo of me.. Guess he was bored because nothing much can be done to him and he has to watch me do makeup etc… Haha!

Many other couples who were at the changing room too 🙂

Guess who I brought along for the photoshoot? My Le Sucre Bunnies!!

I super loved how princess-cy my second outfit turned out to be~

The lady among the flowers ~ So dreamy!!

I love the necklace as well ~ So pretty 🙂
How I wish my bedroom is as airy and roomy as THIS!

We ended up adoring this bed shot so much that we blown it up and hung it in our bedroom with the classic victorian white frame 🙂

We loved indoor shots because it was warmer indoors. We were shivering and our teeth were chattering whilst taking our outdoor shots and our faces were literally numb from smiling in the cold weather!

Prop put to good use – Fun shot with the bunnies

We looked kind of spastic in this shot which was cute. In fact we used this photo as our cover image for our wedding banquet @ Marina Bay Sands subsequently.

The third outfit is a soft and feminine looking toga dress.

The fourth outfit is one of my favourite because I simply loved the colour!

Me: “Look Muffin, I’m Flying!”
Hubs: “Look Rabbit, I’m dying! Can you shed some weight?”
MEH:(

We spent quite some time taking this shot because I was very heavy in my gown and the hubs was dead beat after performing his ‘stunts’ in the freezing cold.

The balloon shot was fun because the balloons actually do NOT fly on their own. The photographer’s assistant had to hold the balloon in mid-air before releasing and exiting the scene promptly before the photographer presses the shutter button.

And I began to grow quite impatient because of the cold…

The final outfit was in shades of purple which I adore as well.

This shot looked so natural as I was really freezing in the cold and that hug was so comforting and warm!

So loving the sunset skies and the classy white piano by the waters!
It was freaking cold with the sea breeze blowing from the back by the way 🙁

Feeling so snug indoors!

We rested a bit indoors before braving the cold again for our final shot with the fireworks…
I was super reluctant to leave the comfort of the indoor environment actually 🙂

The ultimate fireworks shot!
We were frozen solid that we could only gaze at each other and find solace in one another *LOL*

It's a wrap, like finally!!

Both my hubs and I would like to thank Bluebay Wedding for creating such a beautiful memory for us and I had my dream fulfilled to have my pre-wedding photoshoot taken in Taiwan.

It may not be the most flattering angles of us taken by the most qualified photographer but we enjoyed the entire process together and we could feel the sincerity of the crew throughout. The photographer even gave me his heat pack to keep my hands warm during the photoshoot and the crew got us yummy bentos for lunch to fill our tummies but I had no appetite to eat as the gowns were too tight-fitting on me.

Also, they were very patient with me and tolerated my fits of outbursts as I thought of giving up taking outdoor photos due to the freezing weather.
